Hi I’m Sarah

I use my design and project management expertise and other skills, to support the “90%” who would otherwise have little access to designers or project managers.

I collaborate on participatory projects, problem solve quandaries and work to create social and community projects including preschools, schools, women’s refuges, and community centres. My experience is broad and extends beyond architecture and development into education and other services for women, children and communities in need.

Some projects are ‘bricks and mortar’ like this tiny building. It only has about 50 square metres of floor area - but it serves a community of children and families, and across it’s lifespan it will impact hundreds of lives.

Other projects are less tangible but equally important like facilitating a new education program in a school or forging better relationships with a beneficiary community.

Projects can change lives…

I’m an architect…but I do other things too…

Officially I’m an architect working on projects with disadvantaged communities.

What that really means is that I spend much of my time listening to people and helping them to resolve all kinds of problems. Although I have many specialised skills, at heart I’m a generalist. I work with others to knit apparently disparate things together to make a working whole…which may or may not include a building.

Tell me about your project. Perhaps I can help you or share useful contacts. Perhaps we can work together…
